Parys Mines Co. (Anglesey Mines) (DH 342)
Obv: Portrait of a Druid encircled by an oak wreath.
Rev: THE ANGLESEY MINES HALFPENNY. The cypher PMCo and date 1788
Edge: PAYABLE IN ANGLESEY LONDON OR LIVERPOOL .x.

Notes:

Because of a shortage of small denomination coinage in the late 18th century, the Parys Mines Co. of Anglesey minted penny, farthing, and halfpenny tokens to pay their workers. Minted in large quantities, these "coins" became very popular with the public and were readily accepted.

This is the "24 acorn" obverse variety
